Ready for high-refresh gaming

The Thunderobot Storm 17 pairs an Intel Core i7-13620H with a GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU, 16 GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. A 17.3 inch QHD panel running at 165 Hz targets players who want smooth motion in competitive titles. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed in a black chassis released in 2025.

Ports and keyboard for daily use

Three superspeed USB Type-A ports, one superspeed USB Type-C, HDMI, RJ-45 and an audio jack cover external displays, wired networking and peripherals. An RGB backlit keyboard and integrated webcam support streaming and late-night sessions. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity without extra dongles.

Practical limits of the platform

The 16 GB DDR5 4800 configuration is soldered, so memory cannot be expanded beyond the factory fit. Storage uses a single PCIe M.2 slot, limiting future upgrades to one drive. The 165 Hz panel requires the discrete GPU to sustain high frame rates, which increases thermals and reduces battery runtime under load.

Questions about this item

What does the HDMI port on this Thunderobot Storm 17 cap in practice?

The single HDMI output can drive one external display at up to 2560 x 1440 resolution, matching the panel's native QHD grid.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and weight so I can check bag fit?

The laptop measures 15.59 x 10.86 x 1.05 inches and weighs 5.84 lbs, so verify your sleeve or backpack accommodates that footprint.

How is the DDR5 memory installed and what step do people get wrong?

The 16 GB of DDR5 4800 is soldered to the board and not user-replaceable; the common mistake is buying SO-DIMMs that cannot be fitted.
