Pastel wood-cased graphite pencils

These pre-sharpened HB pencils come in an 18-count box with five pastel barrels and matching erasers. The hexagonal wood casings are sourced from responsibly managed forests and lacquered for a smooth matte finish. They are certified non-toxic and designed for general writing, sketching and drafting tasks.

Upgrade from basic uncoated pencils

The proprietary graphite formula produces broader, more consistent lines with less breakage during sharpening. The bonded green-and-gold ferrules keep the erasers secure so they remove marks cleanly without smudging. Buyers who need harder or softer lead grades will not find those options in this set.

Limits of standard HB graphite

The 0.25-inch diameter core wears down faster than thicker leads during heavy shading or extended drafting sessions. Wood casings require regular sharpening and cannot be refilled like mechanical pencils. The single hardness rating does not suit users who need variable line weights for technical drawing.
