Kit Contents

The Ticonn kit supplies 100 heat-shrink butt connectors in three colour-coded sizes. Red sleeves cover AWG 22 to 16, blue sleeves cover AWG 16 to 14, and yellow sleeves cover AWG 12 to 10. Each connector uses a seamless tinned copper barrel and dual-walled tubing with a 3:1 shrink ratio and heat-activated sealant lining. The assortment is UL Listed and delivered new.

Suitable Uses

These connectors suit marine, automotive, and general low-voltage wiring where a waterproof, flame-retardant seal is required. They are not intended for high-voltage mains installations, for wire gauges outside the 22 to 10 AWG range, or for applications that demand soldered joints instead of crimped terminations.

Deciding Specification

The single specification that determines fit is the wire gauge range covered by the three colour codes. If your conductors fall between AWG 22 and AWG 10 the kit provides a matching connector; if they are larger or smaller you will need a different assortment.

Questions about this item

What wire gauges do the red, blue and yellow butt connectors in the 100-piece kit accept?

The kit includes red connectors for AWG 22-16, blue for AWG 16-14 and yellow for AWG 12-10, covering the full 22 to 10 range.

Which tools are required to install these heat-shrink butt splices, and what is the common mistake?

A crimper and a heat gun are needed; the frequent error is applying heat before the crimp is fully seated, which prevents the 3:1 tubing from sealing 360 degrees.

How does the dual-walled tubing protect the connection over time?

The 3:1 shrink ratio tubing has a heat-activated sealant lining that creates a flame-retardant, waterproof barrier rated for underground use and resists corrosion.
