10" Pro Midrange Driver

The Timpano TPT-MD10 PRO is a 10-inch midrange loudspeaker designed for professional car audio installations. It handles 1000 Watts of power and presents an 8 Ohm nominal impedance for amplifier matching.

Practical limits of 8 Ohm midrange use

An 8 Ohm midrange driver requires an amplifier channel rated for that impedance to deliver its rated 1000 Watt power handling. The 100 dB sensitivity allows high output levels with moderate amplifier power, but the driver covers only midrange frequencies and cannot reproduce bass or extreme treble on its own.

Check your crossover and enclosure

Verify that your system includes an active or passive crossover network to restrict the signal to the midrange band. Confirm the mounting depth and baffle cut-out suit a 10-inch frame before ordering. Ensure your amplifier provides sufficient clean power at 8 Ohms for the desired listening level.

Questions about this item

Should I choose a single 10 inch midrange or multiple units for my car audio system?

Each TPT-MD10 PRO handles 1000 Watts with 100 dB sensitivity, so one unit delivers high output; add more drivers only if your design calls for greater total SPL or wider coverage.

What does the 100 dB sensitivity mean when the speaker is installed in a car door or enclosure?

At 100 dB sensitivity the driver produces loud, clean midrange with modest amplifier power, giving detailed vocals and instruments even in a typical door cavity.

How does the 8 Ohm impedance affect amplifier matching and power delivery in a pro car audio setup?

The 8 Ohm load lets most car amplifiers run cool and stable, delivering the rated 1000 Watts cleanly without excessive current draw.
