Arc Flash Protection for Electrical Work

The Tingley Eclipse overall is arc-rated personal protective equipment built for workers exposed to energised equipment. It meets PPE Category 2 with an ATPV of 11 cal/sq cm and uses PVC on Nomex fabric weighing 10.5 oz. The garment is non-conductive and features non-corrosive hardware for durability in harsh environments.

Verify Fit and Regulatory Restrictions

Confirm the XL sizing matches your measurements, noting the 31 in inseam and adjustable hook-and-loop ankle straps. The garment includes a lining but no belt loops, so plan your layering accordingly. Be aware that California Proposition 65 applies because the product contains a chemical known to the state to cause cancer.

Upgrade from Basic Rain Gear

This overall replaces standard high-visibility rainwear that lacks arc-flash certification and liquid-proof sealed seams. The jump is worth it when your task requires both Therm-O-Rad seam sealing for 100 percent liquid proofing and 360-degree nighttime conspicuity from the 2 in silver reflective tape. It is not for buyers who need an unlined shell or a garment without Proposition 65 labelling.

Should I choose the XL size based on the 31 inch inseam or is another length offered?

What does the 11 cal/sq cm ATPV rating mean when I am wearing the overall on site?

The 11 cal/sq cm ATPV indicates the incident energy level at which the PVC on Nomex fabric with Therm-O-Rad sealed seams is predicted to prevent second-degree burn through the garment.
