Medieval simulation strategy game

Knights and Merchants 2012 Edition is a downloadable PC title delivered as a Steam code. The game places you in command of a medieval province during the Anglo-Saxon period around 1200 A.D. It suits players who enjoy historical economy management and tactical battles without fantasy elements.

Two campaigns with 34 missions

The package contains the Shattered Kingdom and Peasants Rebellion campaigns offering 34 missions in total. Skirmish mode and 10 multiplayer maps support up to 6 players over LAN or Internet. About 25 building types and over 10 troop varieties create deep, sustained strategic planning rather than quick encounters.

Lightweight digital download

As a Steam-activated download the product installs without physical media and runs on modest modern hardware. No optical drive is required and the footprint remains small compared to contemporary AAA releases. Buyers who want a boxed collector's item or offline DRM-free play should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the Steam DRM and download install run quietly on a PC left on all day?

The game activates through a Steam account and runs as a standard PC application; noise, heat and power draw depend on your own hardware rather than the title itself.

What account must I already have before I can activate the Steam code?

A third-party Steam account is required to redeem the online game code and launch the simulation.

Can I play the 10 multiplayer maps over LAN with friends who still use the original 2012 release?

Multiplayer supports up to 6 players in LAN or over the Internet, so owners of the same edition can join matches together.
