Genuine 45 W AC adapter for Toshiba laptops

This original Toshiba power supply delivers 19 V at 2.37 A for a total of 45 W. It replaces part numbers PA3822U-1ACA, PA5177U-1ACA and PA5044U-1ACA. The unit is built to OEM specifications rather than aftermarket designs.

Thermals noise and power draw

The adapter accepts a wide 100–240 V AC input at 1.3 A, making it suitable for international travel. It operates without a fan, so it runs silently on a desk or in a bag. The 45 W output matches the factory rating for compatible notebooks.

Included 5.5 mm barrel cord

A detachable mains lead and the 5.5 mm × 2.5 mm DC cable are supplied in the original box. The connector fits the listed Toshiba models directly without adapters. No additional software or drivers are required for operation.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 5.5mm by 2.5mm barrel plug, and what is the common mistake?

Align the centre pin with the laptop socket and push straight in until it seats; the error is forcing it at an angle, which bends the pin.

Which part will need replacement first after long daily use?

The detachable mains cord usually frays near the plug before the brick itself fails.

At what sustained load does the 45W rating become a limit?

Continuous draw above 45 watts triggers thermal protection and the adapter shuts down.
