New 180W UHP lamp module with housing delivers 2000 to 3000 hours of projection life
The Toshiba TLPLV5 is a complete replacement lamp module that combines a new 180W UHP bulb with its housing. It is intended for owners of compatible Toshiba projectors who need a direct swap without handling bare lamps.
In normal mode the lamp is rated for 2,000 hours of operation. Switching to economy mode raises the rated life to 3,000 hours, giving users a choice between maximum brightness and longer intervals between replacements.
Because the bulb comes pre-fitted in its housing, installation only requires opening the projector's lamp door and exchanging the module. The most common problem occurs when the lamp door interlock is not fully engaged after the swap, which prevents the projector from powering on.

The lamp is rated for 2000 hours in normal mode, so replacement depends on your daily usage; at four hours a day that works out to roughly one bulb every year and a half.
The 2000-hour normal-mode rating is the design limit; brightness will gradually decline as you approach that figure, but the lamp is engineered to maintain usable output until the rated hours are reached.
The module uses a standard 180W UHP design with no special cooling features mentioned; expect typical projector warmth and fan noise for a lamp of this wattage.
