Portable CD boombox with AM/FM radio

The Toshiba TY-CRS9 is a top-loading CD boombox designed for listeners who want to play CDs and tune into AM or FM broadcasts. It also includes a 3.5 mm aux input for connecting phones, tablets or other portable audio sources. The unit is finished in black and weighs 2.5 lb.

Simple battery or mains operation

The boombox runs on six UM-2/C size batteries for portable use, or it can be powered from a mains adapter when a socket is available. No software setup or pairing is required; insert a disc or plug in a source and press play. The telescopic FM antenna must be extended for clear reception, and the LCD panel has no backlight, so reading it in darkness can be difficult.

Steady output for casual listening

Two built-in speakers deliver 1.2 W x 2 RMS, providing consistent volume for background music in a bedroom or kitchen. The output level remains stable during extended playback sessions without thermal throttling or distortion. It is not intended for large rooms or outdoor gatherings where higher sound pressure is needed.
