Compact 14.2 x 10.43 inch cooler

The Toughmate TM-2 is a slim laptop cooling pad designed for notebooks between 10 and 15.6 inches. Two 4.93 inch fans spin at 1300 RPM to move air across a metal mesh surface. Weighing 1.09 lb and measuring 1 inch thick, it folds flat for transport in a backpack or briefcase.

Dual USB ports and hinged baffle

A built-in USB cable powers the pad while an extra USB port leaves the laptop's own port free for peripherals. The flip-up baffle stops the computer from sliding forward during tilted use. No software or drivers are required; the cooler runs directly from the host USB connection.

Plug-and-play setup with height choice

Simply unfold the rear feet to select one of two fixed typing angles, connect the USB lead, and the fans start. The only common issue is cable length — some users find the supplied lead too short for rear-mounted laptop ports, so a USB extension may be needed.

Questions about this item

Will the two 4.93-inch fans need any cleaning or replacement over time?

The fans are built into the sealed chassis and no user-serviceable parts are listed, so routine cleaning of the metal mesh surface is the only upkeep required.

At 1300 RPM, what stops the pad from cooling effectively during long sessions?

Airflow is limited by the fixed 1300 RPM motor speed and the two-fan layout, so sustained heavy loads may exceed the pad's heat-moving capacity.

How much noise and heat does the unit add when it runs all day?

The fans are described as quiet at 1300 RPM, draw power from a single USB port, and the metal mesh helps dissipate heat without adding noticeable warmth.
