Dual-band AC1200 Wi-Fi 5 router

The TP-Link Archer A6 V3 delivers AC1200 dual-band wireless performance with 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. Four external antennas with beamforming focus coverage through walls. MU-MIMO on the 5 GHz band serves multiple devices simultaneously. WPA3 encryption secures the network. The router operates on 100-240 V mains input.

Four Gigabit LAN ports and OneMesh support

Four Gigabit Ethernet ports connect wired PCs, consoles or NAS units at full line rate. Access Point mode converts an existing wired link into a new wireless segment. OneMesh compatibility lets you add a OneMesh extender later for a single network name across the home. The free Tether app handles setup and ongoing management from Android or iOS.

Check ISP modem and outlet placement

Verify your internet provider supplies an Ethernet handoff that plugs into the WAN port. Confirm a mains socket is available near the chosen router location for the 100-240 V adapter. Ensure the four fixed external antennas have clearance to orient vertically. Buyers needing more than four wired ports or a built-in modem should consider other solutions.

Questions about this item

How often should I check the four external antennas or power adapter for wear?

The four external antennas are fixed and have no moving parts, while the power adapter accepts 100-240V input and is solid-state; neither requires scheduled replacement under normal use.

When streaming 4K video on the 5 GHz band, will the 867 Mbps wireless rate or the Gigabit LAN ports become the bottleneck first?

The 5 GHz radio tops out at 867 Mbps, so sustained 4K streams will hit that wireless ceiling before the wired Gigabit ports are saturated.

Does the router run hot or loud when left on 24/7 with several devices connected?

The unit has no fan and uses passive cooling; it stays silent and warm to the touch but remains within normal operating temperatures during continuous multi-device use.
