Extends Wi-Fi through electrical wiring at up to 1300 Mbps powerline and 1200 Mbps dual-band wireless, with three gigabit ports and a passthrough socket
The TL-WPA8631P KIT uses your existing electrical wiring to extend a network to any outlet. It delivers powerline transfer speeds up to 1300Mbps and creates a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 access point. Three gigabit Ethernet ports provide wired connections for desktops, smart TVs and games consoles. An integrated passthrough socket keeps the outlet available for other devices.
Wireless data rates reach 1.2Gbps, split between 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps on the 5GHz band. The 2×2 MIMO design establishes multiple simultaneous connections for higher throughput and stability. OneMesh compatibility lets the kit join a unified mesh network with a supported TP-Link router for seamless roaming.
The adapter has no moving parts and runs silently in normal use. A built-in noise filter helps prevent electrical signal interference from degrading powerline performance. Power consumption is limited to the adapter's own operation plus any device plugged into the passthrough socket. One-touch Wi-Fi configuration copies network credentials from the router with a single button press.

Yes, the kit uses the HomePlug AV2 standard and remains compatible with earlier HomePlug AV devices, though the overall throughput will drop to the speed of the slowest adapter on the circuit.
Connect a client to each band, run a local throughput test such as iperf3 against a wired Gigabit device, and verify the results approach the stated 300 and 867 Mbps link rates.
The box contains two short Cat5e patch cables for the initial link; additional cables for the remaining ports or longer runs are not supplied and must be purchased separately.
