SKU CH-0CH5-80V7A MPN DS105G-M2

A five-port 2.5G desktop switch with plug-and-play setup and a steel case

  • Five 2.5 Gbps ports for faster wired transfers
  • Desktop steel case for quiet fanless operation
  • Plug-and-play setup requires no configuration
  • Low 5.81 W power draw reduces running cost

Five 2.5G ports for desktop networks

This TP-Link Omada switch adds five 2.5 Gigabit RJ45 ports to a wired LAN. The metal desktop chassis is fanless and powered from an external adapter. Setup is plug and play with no management software required. It suits homes or small offices upgrading from 1 GbE cabling.

Sustained load stays within 5.81 W

Under continuous traffic the switch draws a maximum of 5.81 W, so heat output remains low in a closed cabinet. Layer 2 forwarding handles full line-rate frames across all ports without buffering delays. The steel case acts as a passive heatsink during prolonged transfers. It is not for racks needing managed VLANs, PoE or redundant power.

Questions about this item

How much power does the DS105G-M2 draw when all five 2.5G ports are active all day?

The switch consumes 5.81 W under full load, so it stays cool and silent on a desk without a fan.

Do I need a managed router or special cabling to use the five 2.5G RJ45 ports right away?

No — it is a plug-and-play Layer 2 switch; any Cat5e or better twisted-pair cable and a standard router will work immediately.
