The TP-Link Omada switch provides 24 Gigabit RJ45 ports and four 10 Gbps SFP+ slots for high-speed uplinks. It delivers a 128 Gbps switching capacity per unit and supports physical stacking for built-in redundancy. The device includes L3 features such as RIP, OSPF, ECMP, VRRP, PIM-DM, and DHCP Server or Relay functions. Security strategies cover ACL, Port Security, DoS Defend, and 802.1X authentication.

Integration into a network build

The switch fits into a rack environment and offers two internal fixed power supplies for high availability. Physical stacking connects multiple units into a single logical device, simplifying management and freeing up uplink ports for other traffic. Centralized cloud management via the Omada SDN controller allows remote configuration alongside standalone web, CLI, SNMP, and RMON access. VRRP and ERPS protocols provide additional link redundancy paths.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Dual internal fixed power supplies share the load to maintain operation during a single supply failure. The rackmount chassis uses internal airflow to cool components under continuous 128 Gbps throughput. Fan speed adjusts to system temperature to balance cooling performance with acoustic output. Redundant power inputs ensure the switch remains powered without drawing from an external UPS for the primary feed.
