TP-Link RE220 AC750 WiFi extender covers 1200 sq ft 20 devices

Coverage and Capacity

The TP-Link RE220 AC750 WiFi extender is a wireless range extender and media bridge designed to boost existing network coverage up to 1200 square feet. It supports up to 20 connected devices on dual-band Wi-Fi with combined rates of 750Mbps. A Fast Ethernet port allows wired connections for devices such as smart TVs or gaming consoles. Setup is simplified through a two-tap process aided by a smart indicator light.

Suitable Scenarios and Limitations

This extender suits households wanting to eliminate dead zones for smartphones, smart TVs, streaming sticks and smart-home devices without replacing their router. It works with any standard Wi-Fi router, gateway or access point. Buyers who need higher throughput than 300Mbps on 2.4GHz or 433Mbps on 5GHz should look elsewhere. The device improves coverage and reliability rather than increasing the raw speed of the internet plan itself.

Compatibility Checks

Verify that the existing router or gateway operates on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands compatible with the extender's 300Mbps and 433Mbps link rates. Ensure a mains socket is available in the intended location for optimal signal placement. The smart indicator light helps confirm the best position during installation. No specific operating-system version is required beyond the broad compatibility listed for Windows, Mac, Linux and UNIX systems.
