Dual-band Wi-Fi extender delivers up to 1733 Mbps on 5 GHz and 800 Mbps on 2.4 GHz with four external antennas covering up to 14,000 sq ft and a Gigabit Ethernet port for wired devices
The TP-Link RE650 plugs into a wall socket and repeats 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signals simultaneously, reaching up to 800 Mbps and 1733 Mbps respectively. It supports IEEE 802.11ac, n, g, b and a standards and works with any router, gateway or access point. Four fixed external antennas and 4x4 MU-MIMO let the unit serve multiple devices at once, while beamforming focuses the signal toward connected clients. The device is aimed at homes or small offices that need broader Wi-Fi coverage without running cables.
A single 10/100/1000M RJ45 port lets you connect a desktop PC, smart TV, game console or retail POS terminal directly to the extender for a stable wired link. The package includes only the unit and a quick installation guide; no extra cables or mounting hardware are supplied. LED indicators show signal strength to help you find the best position between the main router and the target area. A dedicated LED on/off button and a power button allow silent night-time operation.
Wireless repeaters relay the existing connection, so throughput is limited by the quality of the backhaul between the router and the RE650. The 2.4 GHz band tops out at 800 Mbps and the 5 GHz band at 1733 Mbps under ideal conditions, but real-world rates drop with distance, walls and interference. Security is limited to WEP, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK; WPA3 is not supported. Maximum power draw is 12 W, and operating humidity must stay between 10 % and 90 % non-condensing.

The four fixed external antennas are built into the unit and have no moving parts, so they do not require periodic adjustment or replacement under normal use.
The Gigabit Ethernet port caps wired backhaul at 1000 Mbps, while the wireless link can reach 1733 Mbps on 5 GHz, so the port is the first bottleneck for sustained traffic.
Maximum power draw is 12 W with no fan, so the device runs silently and generates only modest warmth during continuous operation.
