An SFP+ module that adds a 10G RJ45 copper port with 30m reach at 10Gbps and 100m at lower speeds
The TP-Link SM5310-T is a hot-pluggable transceiver that adds a 10GBase-T copper port to any device with an SFP+ slot. It targets network administrators who need to extend 10 Gbps connectivity over existing Cat.6a or better twisted-pair cabling up to 30 metres.
The module draws 3.3 V and operates reliably from 0 to 70 °C with a fully metallic enclosure that limits electromagnetic interference. Digital diagnostics monitoring reports temperature and voltage so the host system can track thermal conditions without extra sensors.
Plug-and-play deployment requires no software configuration and the hot-swap capability keeps the link live during maintenance. Compatibility spans most switches, media converters and routers equipped with 10G SFP+ ports, freeing the builder from running new fibre when copper reaches the required distance.

Insert the module into a 10G SFP+ port until it clicks; the step people miss is removing the dust caps from both the module and the port before insertion.
The module has no user-serviceable parts; if the metallic casing or internal optics fail, replace the entire unit.
The 30-metre reach on Cat.6a cable at 10 Gbps is the first distance constraint; longer runs drop to 2.5 Gbps or lower.
