A pair of compact powerline adapters extends a wired network over existing electrical wiring up to 300 metres with 600 Mbps throughput and 128-bit AES encryption
The TP-Link TL-PA4010 KIT uses existing electrical wiring to create a wired network link. Two adapters are included, each providing a single RJ45 port for devices such as smart TVs, consoles or desktop PCs. Setup requires no software configuration; pressing the pair button on each unit establishes an encrypted connection. It suits renters or homeowners who cannot run Ethernet cables through walls.
The adapters operate between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius and store safely from minus 40 to 70 degrees Celsius. Humidity tolerance spans 10 to 90 percent non-condensing during use. A built-in power-saving mode drops consumption by up to 85 percent when no data is moving, so the units run cool and silent without fans. The HomePlug AV standard and OFDM modulation keep the signal stable across the 2 to 86 MHz band.
Each kit ships with two Ethernet cables and a quick installation guide. The cables let you connect the router and the remote device immediately after pairing. The guide illustrates the three-step plug-and-play process, removing the need for a separate app or web interface. The miniature housing leaves adjacent sockets accessible, so no outlet space is wasted.

Connect one adapter to the router via the RJ45 port, plug the second adapter into a power outlet on the same electrical circuit, then press the Pair button on both units to enable 128-bit AES encryption.
No scheduled maintenance is required; keep vents clear and operate within 0–40 °C. Replace the unit if the PLC or ETH LEDs fail to light or if throughput drops below 100 Mbps.
The Ethernet port caps wired throughput at 100 Mbps even though the powerline link is rated up to 600 Mbps, so sustained transfers will hit the port speed ceiling first.
