A two-adapter kit that extends wired and wireless connectivity over electrical wiring up to 980 feet, delivering AV1000 powerline speeds plus dual-band Wi-Fi 6 at 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz
The TL-WPA7817 KIT combines an AV1000 powerline adapter with an AX1500 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 extender to carry network traffic over existing electrical circuits. It targets households where thick walls block conventional wireless signals and where running new Ethernet cables is impractical. Both adapters must plug directly into wall outlets on the same circuit; surge protectors break the link. Buyers who need connectivity in a detached building on a separate meter or who require more than two powerline nodes should look elsewhere.
With no moving parts the kit produces no audible fan noise and draws only minimal standby power from each outlet. The powerline link is rated for up to 980 feet of wiring distance, though actual throughput depends on wiring quality, distance between adapters and electrical interference. Dual-band wireless delivers 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for everyday streaming and browsing.
Under continuous heavy use such as 4K streaming or large file transfers the HomePlug AV2 connection remains stable because it avoids the radio congestion that affects pure wireless repeaters. EasyMesh compatibility lets the extender join a seamless roaming network with a compatible router so clients hand off without dropping sessions. The Gigabit Ethernet port on the extender provides a reliable wired backhaul for consoles or smart TVs, and Wi-Fi Clone keeps SSID and password changes synchronised across all powerline nodes automatically.

Plug both adapters directly into wall sockets on the same electrical circuit, press the Pair button on each within two minutes, then press the WiFi Clone button to copy your router SSID. The step people get wrong is using surge-protected extension leads, which block the HomePlug AV2 signal.
No scheduled maintenance is required. Firmware updates arrive through the tpPLC app or web interface and should be applied when released. Hardware replacement is only needed if a power surge damages an adapter or if your internet plan upgrades beyond the AV1000 powerline or AX1500 Wi-Fi limits.
The AV1000 powerline ceiling of 1000 Mbps is the first bottleneck, further reduced by wiring quality and distance up to 980 feet. Wireless clients then hit the 1201 Mbps 5 GHz or 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 caps, and the single Gigabit Ethernet port caps wired devices at 1000 Mbps.
