Effortless Curtain Automation

The SwitchBot Curtain 3 attaches to existing rods in three steps without tools or modifications. It suits bedrooms, living rooms, offices and nurseries where motorised opening and closing are wanted. The upgraded 2025 guide wheel passes 4 mm bumps and handles curtains up to 8 kg per unit.

App Control and Voice Integration

The app manages opening, closing and percentage position plus custom schedules for full automation. Adding a SwitchBot Hub enables voice commands through Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Siri Shortcuts and IFTTT. A separate remote gives tactile control for children or guests.

Silent Operation for Light Sleepers

Silent Mode runs the motor below 25 dB so curtains drift slowly without disturbing rest. Two-panel curtains require two units. Buyers who need mains-powered operation without battery charging or who cannot add a hub for voice control should consider alternatives.

Questions about this item

How often will the lithium-ion battery need recharging?

The built-in lithium-ion battery can run for about 10 metres of curtain travel per charge; with three hours of direct sunlight on the optional solar panel it tops up fully, otherwise plug it in when the app reports low power.

What is the maximum curtain weight the motor can pull continuously?

The upgraded 2025 motor is rated for an 8 kg load, so sustained operation stays within that limit; heavier drapes will stall the mechanism.

How loud is the motor when running all day in Silent Mode?

In Silent Mode the motor operates below 25 dB, so even continuous daily cycles remain barely audible in a quiet bedroom.
