The TP-LINK WP52-2 combines two individually controlled smart outlets with a built-in motion sensor and night light. It connects directly to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network without a separate hub. Setup is managed through the Alexa app and the device works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control.

Motion sensor and night light automation

The motion sensor can trigger the night light or other connected smart devices when movement is detected. When automatic control is active, the night light illuminates upon detecting motion and turns off after 30 seconds of inactivity. In dark conditions it then dims to 1% brightness rather than switching off completely.

Two outlets for everyday devices

Each outlet can be scheduled and controlled independently from anywhere using the Alexa app. The unit measures 4.33 x 2.36 x 1.38 inches and weighs 0.35 pounds. It is designed for indoor use and only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks, so it will not connect to 5 GHz bands.
