Converts copper Ethernet to fibre while delivering PoE+ power over a single RJ-45 port
This Transition Networks MGEPSWPSE01NA converts between 10/100/1000Base-T copper and 100/1000Base-X fiber using an SFP slot. It operates at Layer 2 to provide rate conversion so legacy 10/100 devices can connect to Gigabit fiber links. As Power Sourcing Equipment it delivers PoE+ power over the RJ-45 port alongside data. The small stand-alone form factor suits installations where space is limited.
The RJ-45 port supplies up to 56 VDC to powered devices such as VoIP phones or security cameras while complying with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards. Fiber reach and speed depend entirely on the SFP transceiver chosen, supporting either 100 or 1000 Mbps operation. Copper links auto-negotiate at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. The converter has a single RJ-45 and one SFP slot, so it handles one PoE+ endpoint per unit.
The copper interface is bound by the 100 m distance limit of twisted-pair cabling. Fiber distance is determined by the SFP module and cable type, not by the converter itself. PoE+ output follows the 802.3at power budget, so devices requiring higher wattage cannot be powered. The unit provides a single fiber uplink; it does not aggregate multiple links or provide switching beyond the single port conversion.

Yes, the converter provides rate conversion so legacy 10/100 copper devices connect to 1000Base-SX/LX fiber and delivers PoE+ power per IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards.
Check that the copper link LED shows 10/100/1000Base-T connectivity, the SFP slot LED indicates a 100/1000Base-X link, and the powered device receives both data and 56VDC power over the twisted pair.
The SFP slot is empty; you must purchase a compatible 100/1000Base-X SFP transceiver separately. The package contains the media converter unit only.
