Five-Input HDMI Switch for Multi-Source Setups

This HDMI switch routes video and audio from five source devices to a single display. It suits home-theatre owners, presenters and gamers who need to toggle between consoles, players and computers without swapping cables. The unit handles standard high-definition resolutions up to 1080p and multichannel audio formats including DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. Its compact grey enclosure fits on a desk or behind a screen.

HDMI 1.3 Bandwidth and HDCP 1.2 Compliance

The switch operates on the HDMI 1.3 specification with a maximum transmission rate of 7.5 Gbps and 250 MHz bandwidth. It supports HDCP 1.2 so protected Blu-ray and streaming content plays without handshake errors. Deep-colour modes at 30-bit and 36-bit are passed through, and the AWG26 cable rating allows runs up to 20 metres. No higher HDMI versions or newer HDCP revisions are supported.

Remote Control, Power Adapter and Memory Function

An infrared remote lets you change inputs from the sofa, while a front-panel button provides local switching with automatic skipping of unconnected ports. The included DC 5 V adapter powers the unit, and a memory function restores the last active input after a power cycle or reconnection. A printed manual completes the bundle.

Questions about this item

What does the 7.5 Gbps maximum transmission rate mean for my 1080p display?

It provides enough bandwidth for 1080p at 60 frames per second with deep-colour 30-bit or 36-bit formats and high-definition audio such as DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD.

How does the HDMI 1.3 interface limit the resolutions I can actually use?

The switch passes 1080p, 1080i, 720p and standard-definition signals up to 20 metres using AWG26 cable, but it does not support 4K or higher refresh rates beyond 60 Hz.

Will the 82 mm by 59 mm by 19 mm unit fit behind my wall-mounted TV?

At 19 mm thick and 54.5 g it sits flat in tight spaces; the included DC 5 V adapter powers it without needing a bulky external supply.
