The HC-SR501 is a pyroelectric infrared detector module designed for smart home and security automation. It operates on a DC supply between 4.5V and 20V and provides a 3.3V TTL output signal. The board measures 3.2 cm by 2.4 cm by 1.8 cm and functions across a temperature range from -20 to +80 degrees Celsius. It is supplied as a single unit ready for integration.

Adjustable detection distance and delay

The module detects motion at distances from 3 to 7 metres with a configurable delay time between 5 and 200 seconds. Sensitivity and holding time are adjusted via onboard potentiometers. A jumper selects between repeatable and non-repeatable trigger modes, with repeat trigger set as the default. Blockade time is fixed at 2.5 seconds.
