Allows four computers to share one 4K monitor at 60 Hz and four USB 3.0 peripherals, switched by remote or front-panel buttons
This TRENDnet KVM switch lets four computers share one HDMI monitor and four USB 3.0 peripherals. Users select the active system with front-panel push buttons or the included infrared remote. An external IR receiver can be positioned away from the switch for convenient line-of-sight control. The unit ships with built-in cables for each computer connection.
The device draws power from the connected computers and has no internal fan, so it adds no audible noise to the workspace. Power consumption is limited to the USB and HDMI interfaces supplied by the host systems. No external power adapter is required for typical desktop configurations.
Integrated cables eliminate the need to purchase separate HDMI and USB leads for each PC. The handheld remote and wired IR extender allow switching from a distance without reaching the switch. EDID emulation maintains display settings when changing sources, and audio and microphone channels follow the selected computer.
Buyers who need dual-monitor output from each computer cannot use this switch, which provides only a single HDMI output. Users who rely on keyboard hotkey sequences to change ports will find that function unsupported. Systems requiring DisplayPort or USB-C video inputs need a different KVM model.

Connect each computer using its built-in HDMI and USB cables to the corresponding PC1–PC4 ports, then attach one monitor to the console HDMI output and USB peripherals to the four console USB 3.0 ports; the step most often missed is ensuring every source, cable, and the display all support 4K at 60 Hz to reach the maximum resolution.
The built-in cables and front-panel push buttons are the only moving or wear-prone components; the infrared remote uses a standard button cell that will need replacing, and the USB 3.0 ports may loosen after many insertion cycles.
The 60 Hz refresh ceiling at 4K resolution is the primary limit; sustained operation cannot exceed 4K at 60 Hz, and the switch does not support higher refresh rates such as 144 Hz or 8K output.
