Four-Port USB VGA KVM

This TRENDnet GCS24U switch lets one VGA monitor, USB keyboard and USB mouse control four computers. Molded-in cables and a six-foot wired remote simplify desk placement. The unit draws power from the USB links so no external supply is required. It supports VGA DDC, DDC2 and DDC2B monitors up to 2048 x 1536 resolution.

Home office and small-business users

The switch suits anyone who needs to toggle between multiple PCs without extra peripherals. Buyers who require HDMI, DisplayPort or 4K video should look elsewhere. The single-console design also means it cannot drive two monitors at once.

Maximum video resolution 2048 x 1536

That figure decides whether the switch matches your display. If your monitor runs higher than 2048 x 1536, this model will not deliver the full image. Confirm the native resolution of your screen before purchase.

Questions about this item

What cables come in the box and do I need to buy any extra cables to connect four computers?

The switch includes built-in USB and VGA cables for each of the four ports, so no separate cables are required for a standard four-computer setup.

Which version of this KVM should I choose if I need audio and microphone switching?

The GCS24U model listed here provides audio and microphone switching, while the 2-port variants without audio do not.

What does the 2048 x 1536 resolution figure mean when the switch is connected to my monitor?

It indicates the maximum video resolution the switch can pass through to a single VGA display at DDC2B standard.
