Outdoor wireless access point delivers N300 point-to-point links on 2.4 GHz with a built-in 10 dBi directional antenna and PoE power
The TRENDnet TEW-740APBO is a 2.4 GHz wireless access point with a built-in 10 dBi directional antenna. It delivers N300 point-to-point connectivity and includes a proprietary PoE power adapter. The IPX6-rated housing ships with wall and pole mounting hardware for permanent outdoor installation.
This unit fits installers who need a single long-range link between two buildings or a remote camera and a central switch. It supports AP, WDS, Client Bridge + AP, WISP + AP, CPE + AP and CAP operating modes. Buyers who want omnidirectional coverage, mesh roaming or 5 GHz band operation should look at other products.
The integrated 10 dBi antenna concentrates signal in one direction, which is the specification that determines whether this device can close the intended link. Two 10/100 Mbps ports are provided, one with PoE input for power and data over a single cable.

The TEW-740APBO is designed for point-to-point networking on 2.4 GHz; each unit provides one 10 dBi directional antenna and supports WDS mode, so you need two units to form a single wireless bridge.
N300 indicates a maximum wireless signalling rate of 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band; real-world throughput will be lower due to distance, obstacles and interference typical of outdoor deployments.
The wired ports are 10/100 Mbps, so the Ethernet side caps at 100 Mbps full duplex; wireless clients can still associate at up to 300 Mbps, but traffic passing through the wire cannot exceed 100 Mbps.
