Extends keyboard, video and mouse control up to 100 metres (328 ft) with 1920 x 1200 resolution support for remote server access
The TRENDnet TK-EX4 extends keyboard, video and mouse control up to 100 metres (328 ft) over a single link. It supports video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 and connects directly to a compatible TRENDnet KVM switch for multi-server management. No software installation is required; the kit ships with all necessary cables for immediate deployment.
This kit is built for operators who must control rack-mounted servers from an office or separate workstation. It is not suited for users who require USB video input at the transmitter, digital video interfaces such as DVI or HDMI, or extension distances beyond the stated 100 metre limit. Buyers needing local PS/2 peripheral support at the transmitter should also look elsewhere.
Installation consists of connecting the transmitter to the local USB keyboard, mouse and VGA source, then linking the receiver to the remote PS/2 peripherals and VGA display. Hot-key commands and the on-screen display handle console switching without drivers. The most common issue is exceeding the maximum cable run or mixing incompatible peripheral types between the local and remote ends.
