What this cable connects

The Tripp Lite A104-02M is a 6.6 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable with male connectors on both ends. It carries SPDIF signals between compatible audio devices such as sound bars, receivers, game consoles or televisions. The ultra-thin black jacket makes routing easier in tight spaces behind equipment racks or wall-mounted displays. Precision-polished fibre tips are designed to maintain signal clarity at high volumes.

Suitable setups and limitations

This cable suits installations where both source and destination have full-size Toslink ports and a 6.6 ft run is sufficient. It will not work with mini-Toslink ports or devices that only offer coaxial or analogue audio outputs. Buyers needing longer runs, angled connectors or mini-Toslink termination should look at other cables.

Deciding specification

The connector pairing is Toslink male to Toslink male, so the cable only fits equipment with matching full-size optical ports. Verify the port type on each device before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Will the ultra-thin 6.6 ft cable bend tightly behind a wall-mounted soundbar?

The ultra-thin construction is designed for tight spaces, allowing sharp bends behind wall-mounted gear without kinking or signal loss.

How do I ensure the male Toslink plugs seat fully in recessed ports?

Remove the protective caps, align the squared-off key on each plug with the port notch, and push straight in until you feel a distinct click.

When should I replace this optical cable?

Replace it if the polished tips become scratched, the cable develops kinks that cannot be straightened, or audio drop-outs appear during playback.
