Connects a USB computer to a PS/2 KVM switch or PS/2 peripherals to a USB port without external power
The Tripp Lite B015-000 connects a USB computer to a PS/2 KVM switch or attaches a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to a USB port. It draws power from the USB bus and requires no driver installation. The compact dongle fits alongside other cables without blocking adjacent ports. IT staff and home users with mixed-generation peripherals will find it a simple bridge.
The adapter presents two Mini-DIN 6 sockets for keyboard and mouse while occupying a single USB Type-A connection. It handles standard PS/2 signalling for both devices simultaneously. No external power supply is needed, so there is no extra cable to route. Systems that lack legacy ports or KVMs that only accept PS/2 gain immediate compatibility.
This unit substitutes separate keyboard and mouse converters or a powered KVM dongle, reducing cable count and desk clutter. The jump is worthwhile when a USB-only workstation must control a PS/2 KVM or when legacy input devices are preferred on a modern machine. Buyers who need audio switching or multi-monitor KVM support should look elsewhere.

The adapter presents a standard USB-A male connector that fits any USB-A port on a KVM switch or computer, so it will mate with the ports on your existing switch.
After connecting the PS/2 keyboard and mouse to the two Mini Din-6 sockets, the host computer should recognise both devices immediately without driver installation, and keystrokes plus pointer movement will appear on screen.
The adapter provides two Mini Din-6 female ports only; you will need to use the PS/2 cables already attached to your keyboard and mouse or purchase separate PS/2 extension cables.
