Rackmount Console for Server Racks

The Tripp Lite B021-000-19 is a 1U rackmount console that integrates a 19" LCD display, an 88-key keyboard and a touch pad into a sliding metal drawer. It is built for administrators who need direct, local access to a server or KVM switch without allocating extra floor space for a separate monitor and input devices.

Check Rack Depth and Console Interface

Before ordering, verify that your rack depth falls between 27 and 42 inches so the included mounting hardware will fit. Confirm that the target server or KVM switch provides PS/2 console connectors; a PS/2-to-USB adapter is supplied for USB-only hosts, but the console itself requires a PS/2 link for keyboard, mouse and video signals.

Continuous Operation in a 1U Drawer

The all-metal drawer slides out smoothly and the screen flips up for use, then stores flush inside the rack when closed, keeping the aisle clear during extended management sessions. The LCD supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 for sustained viewing, and a USB 2.0 pass-through port remains available for peripherals such as a flash drive or CAC reader throughout the session.

Questions about this item

Does the console ship with everything needed to connect to a PS/2 or USB server, or must I buy extra cables?

The package includes a KVM cable kit for PS/2 connections and a PS/2-to-USB adapter, so both server types are supported without additional purchases.

The specs list a 19" LCD and 88-key keyboard; is there a larger screen or different keyboard layout option for this model?

This model provides a fixed 19 inch display and integrated 88-key keyboard with touchpad; no alternative screen sizes or keyboard layouts are offered for the B021-000-19.

How much usable depth does the sliding drawer need inside a standard rack cabinet?

The unit mounts in racks from 27 to 42 inches deep, so the cabinet must provide at least 27 inches of usable depth for the drawer to slide and operate.
