8-Port HDMI Splitter for 4K Distribution

The Tripp Lite B118-008E-UHD-2 takes a single HDMI source and sends identical 4K video and audio to eight displays simultaneously. It suits installers running digital signage in classrooms, showrooms, offices or hospitality venues. Cascading up to three levels expands the system to 512 screens. This unit is not for buyers who need independent content on each output or who must drive cable runs longer than 15 feet.

Check Source Resolution and Cable Lengths

Verify the source device outputs 4K at 60 Hz with HDCP 2.2 compliance to match the splitter capabilities. Every HDMI cable linking the source, splitter and displays must be 28 AWG and no longer than 15 feet for reliable 4K transmission. EDID management handles display handshake automatically, but confirm all eight sinks support the desired resolution. Do not order if your installation requires fibre or active extenders beyond the stated distance.

Passive Operation with External Power Supply

The metal enclosure dissipates heat without internal fans, so the splitter runs silently in quiet environments. An included external power adapter delivers the 5 V supply needed for signal equalisation across all eight ports. Power draw remains low during continuous 4K 60 Hz operation. No thermal throttling or audible noise occurs under normal signage or home-theatre workloads.

Questions about this item

What cables come with the B118-008E-UHD-2 and what must I purchase separately?

The splitter itself is included; you must supply all HDMI cables. For 4K at 60 Hz use 28 AWG cables no longer than 15 ft. Tripp Lite P569-series cables are recommended.

Should I choose this 8-port model or a different capacity for my installation?

This unit provides eight HDMI outputs. If you need more displays you can cascade up to three levels of splitters, expanding the total to 512 connected screens.

What does the 4K x 2K @ 60 Hz rating mean when the splitter is connected to my displays?

It means each of the eight outputs can deliver a 4K resolution signal at 60 Hz simultaneously, provided every HDMI cable in the chain is 28 AWG and 15 ft or shorter.
