Cable length and colour

This 14 ft grey patch cable connects network devices with RJ45 plugs on both ends. It is built to Category 6 specifications and suits home, office or rack installations that need a standard-length link.

Performance standards

The cable is UL verified and meets EIA/TIA Cat6 TIA/EIA-568-B-2.1 draft 9 requirements for stable operation up to 550 MHz. High-quality copper conductors and a staggered-pin plug design keep near-end crosstalk to a minimum during data, voice and video transmission.

Backward compatibility

Designed for use in Category 6, Category 5e and Category 5 applications so it works with existing network infrastructure. The snagless boot protects the connector tabs from catching when the cable is routed through tight spaces.

Questions about this item

How do I install the RJ-45 connectors on the 14 ft Cat6 patch cable without damaging the staggered-pin plug design?

Align the RJ-45 connector with the port, press straight in until the snagless boot clicks, and avoid twisting the cable to protect the staggered-pin plug design and copper conductors.

What maintenance or replacement will the snagless boot and copper wire need over time?

Inspect the snagless boot for cracks and the RJ-45 contacts for corrosion; replace the cable if the boot splits or the copper wire shows damage, as the UL verified construction cannot be repaired.

What limit appears first on the 14 ft Cat6 patch cable during sustained 550 MHz data, voice and video transmission?

The 550 MHz bandwidth ceiling of the Cat6 cable is reached before the 14 ft length affects performance, since the run stays well within standard channel limits.
