Duplex multimode fibre cable

This cable carries 10 GB, 40 GB and 100 GB Ethernet traffic over a two-metre duplex multimode link. It is built for patching between switches, servers or transceivers inside a rack or cabinet. The part number is N82002MOM4TAA and the UPC is 037332278586. It ships new from Tripp Lite.

Suits short-reach multimode links

The assembly fits installations that need 10 GB, 40 GB or 100 GB throughput over multimode fibre at two metres. It does not suit single-mode infrastructure, longer runs or applications that require a different connector polish or fibre count. Buyers needing armoured jacket, plenum rating or custom lengths should look at other cable types.

Data rate and fibre type

The cable is specified for 10 GB, 40 GB and 100 GB operation on multimode fibre. That rate and fibre combination is the single specification that determines whether the assembly matches the link budget and transceiver requirements of the installation.

Questions about this item

What connectors does the N82002MOM4TAA cable use for its duplex multimode fibres?

The cable is built with duplex multimode fibre terminated in standard LC connectors at each end.

What is the correct way to insert the LC connectors so they latch properly?

Align the key on the connector with the port slot, push straight in until the latch clicks, then pull gently to confirm it is seated.

When should this multimode patch cord be replaced?

Replace the cord if the jacket is kinked, the ferrules are scratched, or insertion loss rises above the link budget for 10 Gb, 40 Gb or 100 Gb operation.
