Extending PoE Connections

This single-port Gigabit PoE extender connects a powered source device to a remote PoE device over Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a cable. It delivers 10/100/1000 Mbps data and up to 30 watts of power across 328 feet per unit. Cascading up to four extenders reaches a total distance of 1640 feet (500 meters).

Installers Without Nearby Power

Network installers who need to place access points, cameras or VoIP phones beyond standard Ethernet reach without running new AC lines will benefit. Builders requiring fibre-optic backbones or distances beyond 1640 feet should consider alternative infrastructure.

Maximum Cascade Distance

The extender supports a maximum cascaded distance of 1640 feet (500 meters) using up to four units. This figure determines whether the link reaches the intended device location.

Questions about this item

How do I install the NPOE-EXT-1G30 between my PoE switch and a remote device, and what is the maximum single-segment cable length?

Connect the extender inline between two Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6a cable runs. Each segment must not exceed 328 feet (100 meters) for reliable 10/100/1000 Mbps data and up to 30 watts of power delivery.

What maintenance or replacement will the NPOE-EXT-1G30 need over time?

The unit has no moving parts, fans, or user-serviceable components. It requires no scheduled maintenance; replacement is only necessary if the device fails or if the network infrastructure is upgraded beyond its supported specifications.

What distance limit appears first when cascading multiple NPOE-EXT-1G30 extenders under sustained load?

Cascading up to four extenders reaches a total of 1640 feet (500 meters). Each 328-foot segment remains the binding limit; exceeding it on any single run degrades both data and power delivery before the aggregate distance is reached.
