What this cord connects

The Tripp Lite P013-003 is a three-foot AC power cord built for laptops and notebooks that use a C5 inlet. It carries a NEMA 5-15P plug on one end and an IEC-320-C5 connector on the other, rated for 10 A at 125 V.

Sustained load behaviour

Constructed with 18 AWG SVT conductors, the cord maintains its rated 10 A capacity continuously without voltage drop over the short three-foot run. The fixed length keeps resistance low so the power supply receives stable current during long charging sessions.

Thermals noise and power

Passive wiring produces no audible noise and adds negligible heat to the system. The black PVC jacket insulates the conductors safely at the rated 125 V, and the compact 3 ft length minimises clutter while delivering the full 10 A the adapter requires.

Questions about this item

Does the 18 AWG SVT cable run warm when it carries the full 10 A load all day?

The cord uses 18 AWG SVT wire rated for 10 A at 125 V, so it stays cool under continuous full-load use.

What must my laptop already have for this NEMA 5-15P to IEC-320-C5 cord to connect?

Your laptop needs a C5 three-slot inlet; the wall end is a standard NEMA 5-15P plug for 125 V outlets.

Will this 3 ft cord reach a floor outlet if I keep my older laptop on a desk?

At 3 ft the cord only spans short distances; a desk-height laptop usually needs a longer cord or an extension lead.
