HDMI-to-VGA active converter cable

This 15 ft cable converts a digital HDMI signal to analogue VGA without an external power brick. It is aimed at users connecting laptops, desktops or media players to legacy monitors, projectors or digital-signage displays that only accept a VGA input.

Low-profile VGA plug and micro-USB power

The slim HD15 connector fits into tight ports where standard VGA heads would foul adjacent sockets. A micro-USB female port on the VGA end draws supplemental power from a spare USB socket or charger when the HDMI source cannot supply enough current for the active conversion.

Passive cooling and shielded conductors

Foil and braid shielding protects the 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz video stream from EMI and RFI noise in typical office or AV environments. With no fan or active cooler, the cable runs silently and adds negligible heat to the signal path.

Questions about this item

What resolution limit appears first when running this 15 ft cable at 60 Hz all day?

The active converter supports up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz, so that ceiling is reached before any length-related degradation on the 15 ft run.

How much heat or noise does the inline converter produce during continuous operation?

The adapter draws power from the HDMI source and has no fan; it runs silently with only minimal warmth under sustained use.

Which ports must my source and display already provide for this cable to work?

Your source needs a standard HDMI output and your display a VGA (HD15) input; the low-profile VGA plug fits tight spaces.
