Plenum-rated 8K HDMI fiber cable

The Tripp Lite P568F-30M-8K6 is a 98 ft plenum-rated active optical HDMI cable built for professional installations. It suits installers running cable through air ducts or drop ceilings where fire code requires plenum jacket material. Home-theater enthusiasts and digital-signage integrators gain 8K 60 Hz 4:4:4 support without the bulk of copper at this length. Gamers seeking long-run 8K connectivity also benefit from the EMI-free fiber design.

Sustained 8K 60 Hz signal integrity

Fiber optic strands maintain full 8K 60 Hz 4:4:4 bandwidth across the entire 98 ft run without the signal degradation typical of copper at this distance. Dynamic HDR metadata passes continuously for consistent contrast and color accuracy during extended playback sessions. The active optical design delivers stable 7.1-channel surround audio alongside video without dropouts or handshake failures over time. Installers can rely on uninterrupted performance for digital signage loops or all-day gaming marathons.

EMI immunity with low-power operation

Optical transmission eliminates electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference that can disrupt audio-video signals near power cables or equipment racks. The cable draws minimal power from the HDMI source ports, requiring no external adapters for normal operation. Plenum-rated jacket material meets building-code requirements for in-plenum spaces while remaining flexible for easier pulls through conduit. The male-to-male connectors seat securely for reliable contact in permanent installations.

Questions about this item

Does the active fiber design of this 98 ft cable add any fan noise or heat to a rack running all day?

The fiber active optical construction has no moving parts and draws minimal power from the HDMI ports, so it adds no fan noise or noticeable heat to a continuously running installation.

What source and display ports must I already have to use this male-to-male HDMI cable?

You need one HDMI output on the source device and one HDMI input on the display; both connectors on the cable are standard male HDMI plugs.

Will this 8K 60 Hz fiber cable work reliably with an older 1080p projector I plan to keep?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with lower HDMI resolutions and refresh rates, so it will pass 1080p signals to the older projector without issue.
