Tripp Lite 10 ft DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Cable

This 10 ft active adapter cable connects a DisplayPort 1.2a source to an HDMI 2.0 display using male-to-male connectors. It suits users linking laptops, Chromebooks or desktops to monitors, projectors or HDTVs. The plug-and-play design requires no software installation for immediate use.

Active conversion handles sustained 4K 60 Hz output

The built-in active circuitry converts Single- and Dual-Mode DP++ signals continuously for stable Ultra HD resolution up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. It maintains High Dynamic Range (HDR) performance during extended video playback or presentation sessions without signal degradation.

Gold-plated contacts and high-grip HDMI plug

Gold contact plating on both connectors resists corrosion for reliable conductivity over time. The high-grip HDMI plug prevents accidental disconnection during daily handling or when routing the 28 AWG cable through tight spaces. The fixed 10 ft length suits permanent desk or installation setups.

Questions about this item

Does the active adapter draw enough power to warm up during all-day use?

The active circuit is powered directly from the DisplayPort 1.2a source, so it runs without an external supply and produces no noticeable heat during continuous operation.

Must the source device have a DisplayPort 1.2a port for this cable to work?

Yes, the cable plugs into a DisplayPort 1.2a output on a PC, Mac, Surface, Chromebook or notebook and converts the signal to HDMI 2.0 for the display.

Will a monitor with only an HDMI 1.4 input still show 4K at 60 Hz through this cable?

The cable delivers up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz via its HDMI 2.0 connector; the monitor's own HDMI version determines the maximum refresh rate it can accept.
