The six foot cable carries both video and audio without a separate power adapter. It lets you keep using an existing 4K HDMI display instead of buying a new mDP monitor.

Gold plated high grip HDMI plug

A Mini DisplayPort male connector on one end and a gold plated high grip HDMI male connector on the other provide maximum conductivity and minimise data loss. The active adapter works with both Single Mode and Dual Mode DP++ outputs making it compatible with graphics cards such as AMD Eyefinity that do not output DP++ signals. No external power is required for operation.

HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 limit resolution to 3840 x

The cable supports full UHD video up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and the latest HDCP 2.2 content protection standard. Higher refresh rates or resolutions beyond 4K at 60 Hz are not supported by the HDMI 2.0 interface. Audio passthrough depends on the source DisplayPort card supporting that feature.
