Six-outlet surge protector with USB-C and USB-A ports rated at 1080 joules
The Tripp Lite SK60CB provides six NEMA 5-15R outlets plus one USB-C and one USB-A charging port in a direct plug-in housing. It is suited for desktop setups, home-office gear or entertainment centres that need both AC protection and device charging from a single wall socket.
The unit carries a 1080 joule surge-energy rating and meets UL 1449, IEEE 587/ANSI C62.41, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 42 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 286 standards. No cooling fan is present, so operation is silent and power draw is limited to the connected loads.
Under prolonged or repeated surge events the protector continues to clamp excess voltage until its energy capacity is exhausted, at which point the circuit opens to prevent further damage. It is not designed for whole-house protection, battery backup or hard-wired installation.
Measured against everything we stock in Surge Protector Power Strips, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Plug the built-in 5-15P plug directly into a grounded 5-15R wall receptacle; the step often missed is verifying the outlet is properly grounded so the 1080 joule protection and UL 1449 compliance can function.
The surge protection components degrade after absorbing surges up to 1080 joules; replace the unit if the protection indicator shows the circuit is no longer active.
The 1080 joule energy rating is the first limit; once cumulative surges reach that level the protective components can no longer suppress voltage spikes.
