7-port USB charging station

The Tripp Lite U280-007-CQC-ST is a desktop charging cabinet that powers up to seven smartphones or tablets at once. It delivers a total of 60 W across six USB-A ports and one USB-C port, with one USB-A port supporting Quick Charge 3.0 at 3.6–6.5 V/3 A, 6.5–9 V/2 A and 9–12 V/1.5 A. Locking steel doors and side panels secure devices against theft or tampering while they charge. The unit accepts AC 100–240 V input and includes a 5 ft power cord with cord storage.

Upgrade from single chargers

This station replaces a tangle of individual wall adapters and a separate USB hub by consolidating seven ports into one locked enclosure. The jump is worth it when you need simultaneous, secure charging for a fleet of phones or tablets in a shared space such as a classroom, reception area or workshop bench. Quick Charge 3.0 on one port accelerates compatible devices, while the remaining ports supply 5 V/2.4 A each. No host-computer sync function is provided, so data transfer is not part of the upgrade.

Suited for managed device fleets

Organisations that issue smartphones or tablets to staff, students or visitors will appreciate the locked cabinet and the ability to charge seven units from a single outlet. The plastic chassis measures 4.9" wide, 2.6" deep and 6.6" high, fitting most devices in their cases. Buyers who require data sync to a host computer, wall-mount installation, or per-port status LEDs should look at a different solution.

Questions about this item

How wide is the charging station and will it fit on my desk?

The unit is 4.9 inches wide, 2.6 inches deep and 6.6 inches high, so it fits on most desktops without wall mounting.

How do I connect the station to power and what is the common mistake?

Plug the 5 ft AC cord into a 100-240 V outlet; the mistake is using a power strip that limits total current below the 4 A the adapter draws.

What part will need replacement first with daily use?

The 5 ft power cord and the seven USB cables see the most wear; keep spares so a frayed cable does not stop charging.
