Compatible Magenta Toner for Canon imageCLASS

This True Color Toner 040M cartridge replaces Canon OEM 040M and fits the Color imageCLASS LBP712Cdn and i-SENSYS LBP710Cx and 712Cx printers. It delivers a standard yield of 5400 pages at five percent coverage for everyday colour output. The single magenta unit is new and ready for immediate installation.

Consistent output with standard yield

The cartridge is engineered to produce crisp text and sharp images throughout its rated 5400-page life at five percent coverage. Quality assurance testing follows SMTC and ISO standards to keep density and tone stable from the first page to the last. No special power or cooling requirements apply beyond normal printer operation.

Drop-in replacement for select Canon models

Installation mirrors the original Canon 040M cartridge, so it seats directly in the printer without adapters or firmware workarounds. The standard yield frees budget for other supplies while covering typical office colour volumes. Buyers who need high-capacity magenta cartridges or support for printers outside the listed 710 and 712 series should verify compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 040M magenta cartridge in my Canon i-SENSYS LBP712Cx, and which step causes the most problems?

Open the front cover, pull the old cartridge straight out, shake the new 040M gently five times, remove the sealing tape completely, then slide it in until it clicks; the step most often missed is forgetting to pull the full length of sealing tape before insertion.

What maintenance or replacement will this 040M cartridge need after the 5400-page yield is reached?

Once the 5400 pages at 5 % coverage are printed, the cartridge is empty and must be replaced with a new 040M unit; no separate drum or developer replacement is required for this model.

What limit appears first during a long, continuous print run with this magenta toner?

The 5400-page rated yield at 5 % coverage is the first limit you will hit; after that volume the toner is depleted and print density drops until the cartridge is swapped.
