What this product is

This is a two-pack of new black toner cartridges built to replace Dell OEM numbers 310-8701, 310-8702, 310-8708 and 310-8709. Each cartridge yields approximately 6000 pages at 5 percent coverage and is designed for the Dell 1720 and 1720N printers. It suits offices or home users who print regularly and want a lower-cost alternative to original supplies.

Before ordering

Confirm that your printer is a Dell 1720 or 1720N, as these cartridges are made only for those models. Check the cartridge currently installed to verify it matches one of the four OEM part numbers listed. Ensure the printer firmware has not been updated to block third-party chips, which would prevent the cartridge from being recognised.

What it replaces and when to switch

The pack directly replaces Dell original cartridges 310-8701, 310-8702, 310-8708 and 310-8709, delivering the same standard yield at a reduced cost per page. The jump is worth it when your existing toner is empty or low and you want to maintain print volume without paying OEM pricing. Buyers who need colour output or a higher-yield option should look elsewhere, as this pack provides only black standard-yield toner.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a drum unit separately?

The box contains two black toner cartridges. Each cartridge is a standard-yield drum unit, so no separate drum purchase is required.

There are four OEM numbers listed — 310-8701, 8702, 8708 and 8709. Which one should I choose?

All four numbers refer to the same compatible cartridge. This two-pack replaces any of them for use in Dell 1720 and 1720N printers.

What does the 6000-page yield mean when I am actually printing?

The 6000-page figure is measured at 5 % coverage. Pages with heavy graphics or dense text will reduce the actual number of prints you get.
