What this product is and who it is for

This two-pack of True Color Toner 645A black cartridges replaces HP C9730A originals and works with HP Color LaserJet 5500, 5500DN, 5500DTN and 5550N printers. Each cartridge yields approximately 13000 pages at five percent coverage, giving high-volume offices a cost-effective supply of professional-quality black output. Buyers who need colour toner cartridges or a higher-yield black option will not find them here.

Installation ease and common issues

The cartridges are designed to fit the listed LaserJet models without tools or firmware steps; simply remove the seal, shake gently and slide the unit into the black slot until it clicks. The most frequent issue is forgetting to pull the full-length sealing tape, which leaves a blank strip on the first few pages. If the printer does not recognise the chip, reseat the cartridge and power-cycle the device once.

What to check before ordering

Confirm that your printer model appears in the compatible list: Color LaserJet 5500, 5500DN, 5500DTN or 5550N. Verify that the machine currently uses a standard-yield black cartridge labelled C9730A or 645A. Ensure you have storage space for two cartridges and that the printer’s page-count reset procedure is understood, as the compatible chip may not trigger the automatic low-toner alert.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the cartridge is printing correctly after installing it in my Color LaserJet 5500DN?

Print a test page and check that text is crisp and dark with consistent coverage across 5% areas; the cartridge is rated for 13000 pages at that density.

What comes in the box and do I need to buy anything else to start printing?

The pack contains two black C9730A toner cartridges; no extra components or toner bottles are required for installation.

Which cartridge version should I choose for a Color LaserJet 5550N?

Select the 645A C9730A two-pack; it replaces OEM C9730A and fits the 5550N as well as the 5500 series printers.
