Compatible black cartridge for Okidata MB260 series

This True Color Toner cartridge replaces OEM numbers 56123401 and 56123402 with a new aftermarket unit rated at 5500 pages at 5% coverage. It fits the MB260, MB260 MFP, MB280, MB280 MFP, MB290 and MB290MFP models. Offices needing reliable mono output on these printers can install it directly.

Standard yield limits high-volume runs

The 5500-page rating follows the industry 5% coverage method, so dense graphics or heavy text will reduce the actual count. A single-pack format means no spare is on hand when the cartridge empties. Buyers who want more storage for bulk printing or who need a second cartridge ready to swap should plan a separate purchase.

Drop-in fit with tested consistency

The cartridge seats in the printer without modification and is produced under SMTC and ISO quality-assurance checks. Crisp black tones and sharp images are reported across print jobs. A one-year manufacturer defect guarantee covers the unit, though the shop’s own return terms apply separately.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the single black cartridge or a multi-pack for the MB260?

The listing is for a single black cartridge rated at 5500 pages at 5% coverage. Multi-pack options are not shown.

What does the 5500-page yield mean for daily printing on an MB280?

At the standard 5% coverage test, the cartridge yields about 5500 pages; heavier graphics or text density will reduce the actual count.

Does this cartridge use a chip that the MB290 MFP recognises automatically?

It replaces OEM numbers 56123401 and 56123402 and is listed as compatible with the MB290 MFP, so the printer should recognise it.
