What it is

The True Color Toner DR221Y is a new yellow drum unit rated for 12000 pages at 5% coverage. It replaces the Brother DR221Y and fits the listed DCP, HL and MFC colour laser printers. Home offices and small businesses use it to restore print quality when the original drum reaches end of life.

Installation notes

Turn the printer on and open the front cover before removing the old unit. Slide the new drum in until it clicks, then close the cover. A common mistake is forgetting to reset the drum counter, which leaves the replacement warning active. Handle the green roller carefully; fingerprints can cause streaks on early prints.

Who it suits and who it does not

Buyers with a compatible Brother colour laser who want a lower-cost drum replacement will find this unit fits the purpose. It is not for anyone needing a toner cartridge instead of a drum, or for printers outside the listed model range.
