True Color DR229CL Cyan Drum Unit

The True Color DR229CL is a new cyan drum unit rated for 30000 pages at 5% coverage. It replaces the Brother DR229CL and fits the HL-L3220CDW, L3280CDW, L3295CDW, L3300CDW, L8245CDW, MFC-L3720CDW, L3765CDW, L3780CDW and MFC-L8395CDW. Offices and home users with these Brother colour lasers can install it as a direct OEM substitute.

Build quality and daily handling

The drum ships as a single sealed unit manufactured to match the original form factor, so it seats in the printer without force or alignment issues. No extra brackets, caddies or firmware steps are required; the cartridge clicks into the standard drum slot and the machine recognises it immediately. Users who swap drums during a print run will find the process identical to the OEM experience.

What the single-pack bundle changes

Only the drum unit itself is included — no toner bottle, waste container or cleaning cloth. Buyers must supply their own cyan toner cartridge to complete the colour station. Shops or IT teams that already stock compatible toner can pair it straight away, while first-time buyers need to order toner separately before the printer will produce cyan output.
