Compatible TK1172 Black Cartridge

This high-yield toner replaces the Kyocera TK1172 original and fits the Ecosys M2040dn, M2540dw and M2640idw printers. It is designed for offices that produce regular black-and-white documents and want a lower cost per page. The cartridge is new and supplied as a single pack.

Consistent Output Without Extra Heat

The toner formulation is engineered to deliver crisp text and sharp graphics at the rated 5 percent coverage without increasing the printer’s normal operating temperature or fan noise. Power draw remains the same as with the original cartridge because the electrical interface and mechanical fit are identical.

Plug-and-Print Simplicity

No chips, firmware updates or software utilities are bundled; the cartridge installs directly and is recognised immediately by the supported Ecosys models. The one-year manufacturer defect guarantee covers premature failure, but there are no cleaning kits, waste containers or management tools included. Not suited for colour printing or for printers outside the listed Ecosys range.

Questions about this item

How do I install the TK1172 cartridge in my Ecosys M2540dw, and which step do people often miss?

Open the front cover, pull the old cartridge straight out, shake the new TK1172 gently side to side, remove the sealing tape completely, then slide it in until it clicks; the step most skipped is removing the full length of sealing tape before insertion.

What maintenance or replacement will the TK1172 need after the 7200 page yield is reached?

Once the 7200 page yield at 5 % coverage is exhausted, the TK1172 cartridge itself must be replaced; no separate drum unit or developer is required for the Ecosys M2040dn, M2540dw or M2640idw models listed.

What limit appears first during a long, continuous print run with the TK1172?

The 7200 page yield at 5 % coverage is the first limit; sustained high-coverage printing will reach that page count sooner, requiring a new TK1172 cartridge.
