TN-420 toner and DR-420 drum kit

This bundle supplies two black TN-420 toner cartridges and one DR-420 drum unit. It is intended for owners of the listed Brother laser printers who want a complete refill kit in one purchase. The set covers both consumable components that these machines require. Buyers needing colour output or high-capacity cartridges should look elsewhere.

Standard-yield limits at five-per-cent coverage

Each TN-420 cartridge is rated for 1,200 pages at five-per-cent coverage; the DR-420 drum is rated for 12,000 pages. Heavy graphics or dense text will reduce the toner yield well below the rated figure. The drum will outlast several toner changes, so plan to keep the unit installed through multiple cartridge swaps. Offices printing thousands of pages per month will replace toner frequently.

Aftermarket build with direct-fit design

The cartridges and drum are moulded to match the original Brother dimensions, allowing them to seat in the printer without modification. Chip contacts align with the machine's sensors so page-count tracking functions normally. Toner formulation is engineered for consistent density across the drum life. Users who prefer OEM-only supplies or require manufacturer-backed warranty service will not choose this kit.

Questions about this item

Which pack should I choose for a Brother HL-2230?

The three-pack includes two TN-420 toner cartridges and one DR-420 drum unit, matching the printer's black consumables.

What does the 1200-page yield mean for daily printing?

Each toner cartridge prints about 1200 pages at 5% coverage, so a typical office printing 30 pages a day gets roughly 40 days per cartridge.

Does the DR-420 drum unit limit the printer's resolution?

The DR-420 drum is rated for 12000 pages and works at the printer's native resolution; it does not impose an extra cap.
